There is a tiny bit of blood that drips onto the ground. when you eliminate someone, its not like blood comes GUSHING OUT. We have one day a week that we play against each other, and have endless amounts of fun! Now about the gameplay and the violence. I personally have taken time with my 11 y/o and my 14 y/o to play this game. In terms of quality, it's a very great game with smooth controls and a fun and suspenseful campaign that I think anyone will enjoy. I think more mature teens can handle this game, but it's definitely not for anyone under the age of 14. Overall, the game isn't very bloody, and if you want to you can turn all the blood and dismemberment off in the settings. ![]() It's violent because of the fact that you couldn't save an innocent man who had children (he pleads for you to save him so that he can see his children). You don't really see anything, you see him go off the edge, followed by an explosion. The timer begins to run out, and there's really nothing you can do for him, so one of the other characters from the game pushes him off the edge of the building. For example, on one of the missions you are dealing with a terrorist attack on London, and you come across a man with a bomb vest strapped to his chest. I think the violence is more in terms of context. The game is violent and brutal, but it isn't terrible compared to other things. It is no different to games in the Battlefield franchise and deserves the substantial popularity it’s gained over the years.ĬSM definitely went a little overboard with their review. To summarise, Call of Duty is very misunderstood in the gaming world, and does not deserve the age rating of 18, which puts many parents off when looking into buying it for their child. The game is great to bring friends together and they will have much fun playing with and against each other. Bear in mind that a teenager will probably not be affected by this anyway, if they have seen any movies with blood and go to a secondary school where you would hear much worse than the words used in the game such as: “s***, b**** and a**.” There is also a great deal of information about the World Wars 1 and 2 in the franchise, so your child will learn some extra knowledge on the events that happened, the places, and the machinery they used which may be useful for their classes at school. If you don’t want them to hear any mild swearing, you can turn it off. If you don’t want your kid to be exposed to the small spurts of blood, you can turn it off. ![]() Many parents may be skeptical about letting their child play this game, but lots of the features that make COD seem bad can be turned off in settings. COD is a great game for teens and young teens alike, and is so popular between the ages of 12-17. I am a professional game developer for PlayStation and specialise in action shooters like Call of Duty.
